Generate Test Data Overview

Use the Test Data Generator utility to create test data based on the table definition of your data source.

You can use the Randomizer Column Mapper Form to supply realistic looking test data or you can accept default values (X’s for string values, zeros for numbers).

Source Data Schema Form

This will be the Data Source you defined on the Data Extractor with Data Masking Main Form.

Destination Data Output To

This will be the Data Destination you defined on the Data Extractor with Data Masking Main Form.

Number of Rows to Generate

Number of test data rows to write to the destination.

Number of Rows to Preview

Number of test data rows to produce when previewing the test data using the Preview Test Data button.

Generate Test Data Button

Click this button to create the output table containing the test data.

You should see something like the following message:

Randomizer Button

When you use the Randomizer Column Mapper Form to supply values for the output, you define the data mapping using the following form:

Preview Test Data

Data will be shown in a Data Output Grid.

Exit

Close the form and return to the Data Extractor with Data Masking Main Form.

Page Setup

Controls how printer displays data on page. For example, Portrait or Landscape mode.

Print

You will be prompted to select a printer and then a report containing the contents of the form will be sent to a preview window.

Print Preview

Displays the form contents in a preview pane before sending to the printer.

Exit

Closes form.
